My daughters had their Fall fundraiser for their school today.  I sat there watching parents, teachers, staff and volunteers put on this tremendous Monopoly Themed Walk-A-Thon.  It was a great day filled with food, fun, music, cake walks, games and the like.  not to mention "carnie-food."  I love carnival food!!!  But there was a camaraderie present.  A common bond existed between people there.  All these people united to help raise funds for this wonderful school.  People investing in the lives of young people--I LOVE THAT!

This is what this whole weekend is about.  As Festival of Light embarks upon us tomorrow, we get to see that our congregation really loves young people.  As you volunteer to help serve food, give out candy, help kids carve pumpkins, you can show that you also love young people, especially children.  I want to thank you in advance for your ministry to the children of this congregation and our community.  Thanks for serving.  Thanks for ministry.

Your service and your ministry really helps make this church a great COMMUNITY.  A place where we can go and people know our name.  Where we have a common goal.  Where God gets in to our lives and hearts.  Unfortunately, we just don't have enough cary food. . . Although I will have my fair share of corn dogs tomorrow!
