We chowed down on huge amounts of food ranging from coffee cake muffins, scrambled eggs, bacon, juice, pancakes, pigs in a blanket. It was delightfully yummy. AFter we ate, we had a great time of worship and prayer together. I hope your spring break continues to go well. Have fun with all this Sun! To see photos from the gala event CLICK HERE.

.::Happy Easter!
by
Matthew
on Sun 16 Apr 2006 01:00 AM PDT
IT’S RESURRECTION SUNDAY!!!In other words, it’s Easter! Now when I was a kid, Easter was really all about candy and a great breakfast at our house. Yeah, we went to church, but that got lost in all of the other tradition. But today is the day where we truly celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. His conquering death and evil and Satan. Can you think of a more important day in history? Think of what today means: • God loves you more than anything else. • God so desire to have a deep, intimate relationship with you that He would do ANYTHING to make sure that relationship stays intact. • Jesus suffered and died for you in one of the most, if not the most, horrible deaths one can imagine, but he overcame even that! • Death is no longer something to worry about for those who believe in Jesus for heaven waits for us after this life. • Today means that God is in control and Satan is going to lose at the end of all things. • You don’t have to worry about sin because the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus takes care of all of that. • Colored Eggs, candy and the Easter bunny are neat, but God blows them all away.
I hope that this Easter is a special one for you and that you are changed by what God did on this day for you!.

.::Holy Saturday
by
Matthew
on Sat 15 Apr 2006 01:00 AM PDT
 Today is the day some churches call "Holy Saturday." It is the day between the Crucifixion of Jesus and His Resurrection. Can you imagine how depressing of a day that must have been? If you were one of the apostles, did you really anticipate what was going to happen the next day? Did you really expect an empty tomb? My guess is that many of the apostles walked around this day in a complete and utter daze. Wondering what the past three years were all about. Forgetting all the foreshadowing that Jesus used to allude to His death and resurrection. Unable to put all the dots together and realize that tomorrow was going to be one of the most amazing days, if not the most amazing day in history. The wind was probably totally knocked out of their sails. As they walked by the Empty Cross, what kind of feelings welled up in their hearts? Did they get angry? Sad? Bitter? Hopeful? They must have felt some sort of betrayal or completely tricked by Jesus as they looked at the tomb that was sealed shut along with all their hopes and dreams. Feeling like a fool to ever believe this guy from Nazareth. “How could I be so stupid?” they might have said to themselves. Was is a cloudy, dark depressing day? That day when no one was completely sure of what the next day had in store for the World? Or perhaps, maybe a few of them remembered the words of Jesus where he said he was the “Resurrection” and the “Life.” And they just couldn’t wait until tomorrow. Imagine what life was like the day between the Crucifixion and the confirmation of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. What would have gone through your mind?

 The Junior Highers had a BLAST last night bowling. It might have been cold and rainy outside, but inside Moonlight Bowl was really, really cool. Halfway through our bowling time they turned on the rockin lights, strobes, and neon. It was a blast! Kedrick proved to be one of the best bowlers in the group. Afterwards we hit Baskin Robbins for a little ice cream delight. CLICK HERE to see photos from this extravanganza!
