Who doesn't like a picture of them self? I say, we all like to look at pictures. Many of us are even visual learners that learn better with images. Maybe you aren't the school type. Maybe you don't even LIKE school. Maybe school isn't your THING. Maybe you just complain A LOT about school. Maybe you THINK you have it rough. Here is a video of a guy that I met in Nairobi whose job it is to cut rock down into the right size and shape for buildings. He taps and taps and taps at these rocks all day. It is hard, difficult, tiresome work.
Could you imagine doing this work every day, five or six days a week, all day? Can you imagine how your hands, arms and back would feel after a long day of work? Would you be able to get the sound of the tapping out of your ears? How amazed were you by how square he was able to get the rocks? Does watching something like this help you to appreciate your school more? Your teachers? Your ability and the options you have for almost ANY future? How blessed you are by God to enjoy education, to learn, toe be challenged? Take this day to be THANKFUL for EVERYTHING you have! Tell someone like a teacher, or a coach, or a parent, "Thank You!" for what they help you to become and what they teach you. "give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I Thess 5:18 Wednesday, January 17

I have never cared for dress socks. I am a regular, athletic, white sock kind of guy. I like to wear thick heavy socks that you KNOW that you are wearing on your feet. The problem with dress socks for me is that they don't even feel like REAL socks. They don't feel NORMAL to me. So instead of buying dress socks, I buy dark colored athletic socks and fake it . . . so to speak.I don't know what kind of spiritual year you are having. Maybe things don't feel "normal" for you, like when I am wearing dress socks. Maybe something feels off for you this season. What might be causing that in your faith? Maybe you are having a great spiritual year/season right now. You are wearing your regular socks and thing feel RIGHT for you. What are the things that God has been doing in your life that have helped you get to this place? How can you maintain this spirit in your walk? Socks...maybe they can be spiritual. |
