GROUP DATE NIGHT RECAP!

What a GREAT Group Date Night!!!  We all gathered in the Birch Room and had a time where we heard from the more experienced adults in our congregation as to what to do when you date and how to date successfully.  We then grouped us and headed out to the Burrito Factory, Denny's and other places for dinner.  Then we got back together for an AMAZING time on skates as we went to San Jose Skate.  We then hit Starbucks for a late night jolt of caffeine and then back to church for a really cool time where the guys prayed over the girls and the girls prayed over the guys.  Good times . . .

prayer breakfast recap

This morning was GREAT!  The sun started coming out when I left for breakfast letting me know the days are getting longer.  I really like that.  We hung out while breakfast was being made and I had a blast sharing stuff from the weekend and more.

Then we had a fantastic breakfast of cinnamon crumb cake, scrambled eggs, tots, and fresh fruit!  Then Kayla had a great devo where she challenged us from Matthew 5:38-42:

"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth. 'But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.”

We were challenged to really think about others in our lives and ways to serve them.  To be selfless.  To put others first.  What a great way to live life.

Winter Camp FUN, FUN, FUN

What a great weekend God gave us in the wilds of Sonora California!  After an amazing trip up the mountain complete with a food stop at Sonic, we arrived at Silver Spur Conference Center for three days and two nights of comedy, memories, snow tubing, worship, learning, and all out AMAZINGNESS!  We met up with Antioch, Cordova and Walnut Creek and built some new friendships and continued more from FDC.

Friday Night found us in the lodge for a great evening of worship, connection and collision as we launched into the weekend with Steve teaching about Luke 15 and the lost parables and asking the three questions:
Am I LOST Somewhere?
Have I LOST Something?
Have I LOST Someone?

We then came inside for some worship stations that took us through thinking and processing more about these questions in our own lives.

Saturday Morning we were challenged again by Steve think about the cycle of suffering/perseverance/character/hope that is outlined in Romans 5.  We then suited up for an afternoon on the tubing runs of Leland Snow Play Park.  There was some EXTREME tubing that resulted in NO minor concussions this year.

We came back for a killer dinner and then a night of ExPress YoSelf.  We ended with another teaching session about Matthew .  And then we responded through several different stations of worship.  That rocked!

Sunday morning ended with some worship and communion together and then Steve took us through some processing together as a group.
