Soon after Amy I were married we got the chance to see a taping of "The Seinfeld Show" as extras. It was one of the longest nights of my life. It was not glamorous. It was not exciting. Actually, it was pretty boring since they would stop, set up a shot, do a scene, redo that scene two or three times. Then stop, set up the next shot and so on and so on and so on. Half of the time they were on a different part of the set that we couldn't even see. As I looked back at this, I couldn't help but wonder, "What are those things that we think are really, really great, only to find out they are a big disappointment? Why might God set things up that way? What are the lessons to be learned about expectations?
